Handwriting on the Wall, Black Letters on White Pages

Santorum says, “I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money.” During an appearance on FOX News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” he denied ever making the comments, saying the remark was the result of “a little bit of a blurred word.”

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Thursday he is willing to go before the NAACP and urge blacks to demand paychecks, not food stamps.

Gingrich told a town hall meeting at a senior center in Plymouth, N.H., that if the NAACP invites him to its annual convention this year, he’d go there and talk about “why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps.”

The Black letters are the words from the Republican Party Presidential Candidates challenging the African-American Community and the white pages represent the skin color of those making the challenge!  Making statements that are inaccurate, ignorant and founded upon bias thoughts, concepts and ideas instead of statistics or political strategy.  Sounds a lot like the 60’s!  In fact in the recent weeks we have witnessed, seen and heard what the fight is all about, Race!

It’s been denied and ignored but the truth is, race matters and for most of us we have always known that.  However to talk or challenge those who feel that race isn’t a factor, open your eyes.

African-Americans must in 2012, vote!  They have called the community out.  Operating under the misconceptions and stereotypes from a world and place of the past, the republican party is clear on where and how they view or think about: The African-American Community, Healthcare, Jobs and this Economy.

So when called out, how should the African-American Community rise to the occasion!  United, In strong numbers, going to the poll!

Don’t get caught up on one or two ideas or rumors of things and issues and get blind-sided by the bigger picture.  This rise of new candidates, the tea party and the like is a bit unsettling to me and should be to people in general not just the African-American Community.  When one begins to ‘call out’ a set group, to target and challenge the rights of the Americans to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness; Everyone should be afraid!  It means the Constitution is becoming null and void used to further the agenda of those who can speak the loudest and that those without money have no voice.  While some people can look at this and say, ‘hey it’s not my fault or my problem.’  That’s not true!  Dr. King said it best, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice EVERYWHERE.”

The problems, restrictions that hinder one group today will move to the next group tomorrow and so forth.  So today it’s the African-American Community, whose next.  The mindset of politicians or people who are comfortable targeting one group of people should frighten anyone!   While their comments make me sick and are founded in so much ignorance, at the same time, I love knowing and being able to identify my enemies.  It’s about time the coward took off the sheets and allowed us to see your faces.

Now the challenge is to the African-American Community, what will you do?  The handwriting is on the wall!
