Malachi 3:10-11, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and 1) pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 2) And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and 3) he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; 4) neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.”
……the fruits of your ground? There are sooooooooooo many things in this life that are beyond our mere control. Situations, life happens to us all. We are taught to plan and that’s right, we learn to strategize and that’s right too; but despite that we are human and limited in what we can do, what we can accomplish alone. BUT GOD! God being rich in mercy and richer in love because HE IS LOVE, plants back into us, empowers us by guarding the fruits of our ground.
What is the fruit of your ground? Your gifts, your ability to make money to earn a living are all examples of the fruits of your ground. Your future opportunities to make money, is a fruit of your ground; and when one tithes, one of the promises is that God will not destroy the fruit of your ground. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize that things go wrong all the time. In fact, the insurance industry has created a business based on the fact of paying in advance for protection in case something unexpected happens. God holds our lives in HIS Hands everyday! Whether we acknowledge it or not, realize it or not HE DOES. The fruit of your ground represents also the “unexpected things” that life throws or could occur.
The ground being the earth and the elements that affect it mean that God will turn things in your favor. When you hear someone pray, God protect me from things seen and unseen, that’s what it represents. The things one cannot see and even if they are seen are beyond our control. This promise is monumental to say the least. Basically God says I will provide better than insurance but assurance that all will be well in what you attempt to do. Tapping into this portion of the promise means having a spirit of expectancy that supersedes fear and doubt; it means not just believing that God will do but knowing HE WILL and then acting upon it (Remember your actions are required).
Your ground is ready, it cannot be destroyed so what will you do now that you know failure isn’t an option?!
