Making your “big picture idea” the Real Picture Lifestyle

creative-thinking

Most people have goals! Everyone, almost everyone I know has a dream.  Some of the dreams aren’t rooted in reality while others have obtainable, reachable goals and/or dreams.  The key is not having the big picture or the dream but the little steps on the road to the dream where people fall off.  Everyone wants to lose weight, 20, 30 50 pounds but the small steps to that road are the steps that get overlooked.  People want to be millionaires or become a huge successful business owner but the road to that vision is rocky, has twist and turns.  Simply put, most people have not given it their pursuit enough thought and therefore are easily persuaded off the road toward their goals.  Here are few things to consider that can help you make your “big picture” become the Real Picture!

  1. Do not  share your goals, dreams and ideas with everyone – sometimes the sharing occurs because one feels he or she is among other dreamers or like-minded people and that feeling can be true for a season, however, time, energy, action and mindset will reveal that truth.  Even among like-minded dreamers be careful about what you share and how much.  It’s not necessary to get approval or the opinion of others on your goals.  Be selective, careful and cautious
  2. Do not expect people to understand – building anything requires sacrifice.  That means becoming selfish with your time, your energy and thoughts.  It means looking crazy or weird to others for a season so you can be happy for a lifetime.  Everyone will not understand but if you want or require everyone on board before you execute your plan, then quit now.
  3. DO NOT EXPECT OVERNIGHT SUCCESS! – NOTHING happens overnight! Nothing! You may hear about it overnight and the writers may say and overnight she became a success but the individual will tell you, that he or she began working toward their dream and worked when no one was looking before people started looking!  He or she will tell you for a minute; that, he or she looked crazy but waited those moments out to have the big moment!  Success requires planning, thought process, ideas, strategies for overcoming obstacles and consistency!
  4. BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME – however, they will not come overnight and they will not come because it was built. Someone has to announce the building of whatever you launch and announcing the new things require advertising and lots of it.  In other words, you need a plan for announcing your project, your business, your goal and announcing it right.  And until they come, you need a plan for remaining in business or holding onto your goal or dream.
  5. Work like your life depends on it! – The releasing of minimal work providing maximum return must occur! Too often we are planning life and businesses like one plays a scratch off lotto.  A little work and a big pay off!  That’s a tired, trifling mentality that yields temporary accommodations!  WORK!  Now your work load will and should shift!  In the beginning, one may have to play all the roles but with growth the work may shift from being both physical and mental to more mental as you hire, network and improve the way you do business, but there will always be work!   Don’t half do anything and expect a full return, it is impossible!  Work Smart and not always hard.

You can spend the rest of 2018 discussing your ‘big picture’ ideas but without a plan, you will have big picture ideas and no real picture life!  It’s okay to seek help.  If you aren’t sure where to begin, find someone in that field, ask questions, do research, attend seminars, get in the know and flow of the things you desire to pursue.

Until next time, this is the Queen ‘B’ challenging you to live, do and be BETTER!
