Your mind and your money are like two individuals and at first glance, one could feel or think that this two people are not related; but that couldn’t be further from the truth. These two are definite relatives and not the distant kind of relatives that can talk or exist without speaking regularly. These two complement one another and build or they walk in disagreement and destroy.
Money isn’t the root of all evil; the love of money is the root of all evil. Money is a resource, a method for bargaining and trading to receive goods. There are different methods to achieve this resource from entrepreneurship to working a regular 9 to 5. Money alone means and accomplishes nothing, however, when one uses it to obtain other needs; it is then and there that money gains value. How that value is interpreted is different and that’s where the mindset or the way a person thinks about money comes into play.
Your mind determines how you spend or if you distribute your resource and where you distribute or spend. The difference between distributing funds and spending money is a mindset. Distributing of funds is a calculated strategic thought process of planning, then planning for possible oversights, setbacks, saving and earmarking funds for a certain purpose. Distributing of funds is more of a business mindset and less of an emotional one. Distributing is done on purpose, with a thought process that extends beyond right now, beyond the moment. It is planned, methodical in nature and doesn’t speculate on future money to come from surprise sources. It is grounded thinking that prevents one from over spending or spending in the moment. It’s practical in nature eliminating the emotional of outside noise. People with goals for the future, that understand the value of money for the long-term; that respect its value beyond their lips, hip and finger tips disburse funds. They do not live up to their means, in other words, there is always a balance remaining that could be disbursed. There are funds available before their next paycheck. The difference lies in the way they view money. People that operate in this fashion tend to receive more money and money is drawn to them because of their values. These people tend to seize opportunities because they are positioned for them and those risks usually pay off for them.
The mindset of the spender of money is quite different. Appearances are far more important for these individuals. If they can appear to have more than people will assume that they have more. After that, the goals are pretty superficial. It may seem cool to make people think you have a lot but if you pretend to have, its work maintaining an image based on nothing. It causes stress, poverty, begging for what you need as you buy the things you want and leaves nothing for the next generation. Everything acquired is spent quickly and nothing is accrued, no interest is made on the money that hits the bank. The lack of tracking and methodical spending makes it impossible to see the hard work or amount of money made. This mindset can never acquire a loan because everything that comes in goes out. There isn’t a plan for tomorrow and the livelihood is check-to-check.
There are those who play this lifestyle out and it appears to be great but those people are really living by luck and chance. Others who seek this same lifestyle working with less money often find this mindset one leading directly to poverty and it does. Even if you manage to look prosperous but do so by check-to-check, that is still a form of poverty! Poverty is a physical condition and yes there are things that exist sometimes beyond one’s control; however, there are more decisions that lie within one’s control and the lack of good decisions land one in poverty.
Being financial stable, rich or wealthy lies in the mindset of the individual setting the goal for his or herself and making the decision to become one of the three mentioned above. Yes there are advantages to being born to a wealthy family, however, regardless of that, someone in the lineage had to think beyond the right now and make strategic decisions that would lead to a new generation being born with advantages. Your money, your economic status is determined by your mind! Can you picture having more? How can you acquire it? Is it more important to do everything now or can you plan, wait, sacrifice for a season to have a different lifestyle forever? Where are your priorities when it comes to spending? How is your mindset determined on the way you spend money?
