PART 2: YOU CAN TITHE AND STILL BE BROKE!

TITHE

Church folk are a different kind of people.  We tend to believe God about EVERYTHING EXCEPT………………………………..US!  We believe Moses was sent down the river in basket and preserved by God because there was an anointing on his life for the future!  We believe God parted the Red Sea and the children walked to freedom on dry ground. We believe that Paul and Silas prayed the gates of the jail were opened, but when it comes to us, we……………..flatline!  We believe in miraculous things happening except the miracle of controlling ourselves!

Being broke is a state of mind combined with poor discipline.  For those who say that giving a tithe to a church will make you broke, you haven’t done the math! 10% of anything isn’t greater than 90% of anything, no matter what kind of pie you are slicing!  If you make $10k every two weeks, then 10% or your tithe is or would be, $1,000 leaving you the tither with $9,000 in pocket!

People, some people tend to give tithes like they are shaking dice at a casino, meaning they give and then do not manage their remaining funds.  You cannot give to God and mismanage what is remaining. The blessing on your finances isn’t a license to overspend and when people in the church are poor financial planners, the church or the Pastor tends to gain the reputation of being a pimp in the pulpit.  No one looks at the person with the money and wonders how well they manage money or disburse it, if he or she is living above their means or anything. EVERY GIFT GOD gives us must be managed and managed well for it to multiply and money is no different.

Church people are peculiar as I stated before, and while humility is discussed and even preached in some denominations, materialism is wide-spread.  EVERYONE wants to look prosperous as a sign that he or she is blessed and supposedly the more blessed one looks should mean or imply that he or she is living right.  ALLOW ME TO LOL LOL LOL RIGHT HERE!

  • Material things aren’t really blessings or miracles.  Nothing miraculous has to occur for one to buy a new car or get a home. Those are not miracles.
  • God never needs our help to bless us
  • Having the gifts isn’t the same as having, appreciating and KNOWING THE GIVER!
  • ANYONE CAN LOOK PROSPEROUS but being prosperous or having money isn’t in how one looks!
  • GIVING TITHES doesn’t mean that one knows how to manage the remaining money in his or her budget!

Yes even those in the church can be confused on what blessings are, and pretend to be closer to God or better than the next person based on their lifestyle.  Not to mention that lifestyles are the images presented to others, that doesn’t mean that the lifestyles are a true picture.

So a person can tithe and still be broke and it has nothing to do with them giving all that they have to the church!
