#BlackHistoryIsAmericanHistory Let’s Talk Politics

IT’S BLACK HISTORY MONTH! Let’s talk Politics & Representing America or Amerikkka

Yeah on the left side you have the 1st African American President of the United States and he could very well be the last.   As excited as I was to vote for the 1st Black President and for both of my sons to experience their first vote and each of them have the opportunity and privilege to vote for a Black President; the excitement quickly faded as the violence I learned, watched and even experienced (very minimally) against people of color began to rise without hesitation, complications and as if it never ever stopped.

It would seem that the 60’s were in full effect all over again.  Don’t misunderstand, I knew that there were and will always be prejudiced in the world.  People of color particularly Black people will always be thought of as ‘less than’ until they are proven to be as they say, ‘different’

Black History Month is an excellent time to celebrate the achievements of Black People, but let’s have a real conversation.  Often I’m criticized about all the posts I make about Black Excellence, Black Lives Matter, achievements of Black People and the like; without the critic understanding the plight.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, No such thing as being color blind!  LIES! We see color!  That’s a fact.  And if you are one of those people that feel saying that is a compliment, it is quite the opposite.  I’m black and I love my melanin.  If you want to judge me as a person, do that.  However, it should require you to down play my race to do so.

Black History is about the picture amerikkka has painted against the black man and/or woman which leads me back to the picture I have selected.

The office of President is the highest ranking job that a civilian can achieve and until recently; it has been one of the most respected offices.

The election of former President Barack Obama placed some people on edge and throughout his presidency there were roadblocks that spanned beyond politics but rather color.

  • From the subtle things to calling him by his first name rather than Mr. President when address on media outlets;
  • References of him or his wife looking other than human
  • The constant attacks about his origin of birth and whether he was a citizen
  • The critics of him, President Obama, running the country into a deficit at a time when the nation was at an all-time low
  • Remember the criticism about his tan suit
  • How about the successful passing of healthcare for all?!
  • What about the drama of deciding on his personal cell phone and watching the calls he made and/or his connections?
  • The critics of him being connected to foreign countries for his own benefit
  • Remember the controversy every time a cabinet member resigned
  • President Obama was elected into office

Now we have a President who tweets like he is a regular person

  • His communication level is low
  • His understanding lower
  • His I.Q. about the country low
  • His verbiage – reckless
  • He belittles people
  • Fires them at will
  • It has been proven that he has spent more money
  • He has taken more vacation time
  • The deficit that the republicans claimed to be so concerned with is out-of-control now.
  • He shut down the government for NO GOOD reason
  • His wife wasn’t a citizen and he was the main one speaking out against our former President.
  • EVERY RULE, LAW he yells about, he too will break or bend it!
  • This President bought his way in

Black History Month is about exposing the myths, revealing the double-sided views that are held against Black People.  It’s having the difficult conversations about race that can close the gap on the differences you perceive about black people.

While you cannot legislate feelings or relationship; Black Americans want EQUAL OPPORTUNITY IN EVERY SHAPE FORM OR FASHION!

  • EQUAL PAY
  • EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR JOBS
  • EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR EDUCATION
  • EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR HOUSING
  • EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO DO WRONG & RECEIVE A FAIR TRIAL
  • EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO VOTE AND KNOW THE VOTE IS COUNTED
  • EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK & BE HEARD
  • EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO NOT BE JUDGED BEFORE YOU KNOW US
  • EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO BE SERVED & PROTECTED, NOT HUNTED & KILLED

I chose this picture of two Presidents because it represents the tale of two America’s:  America and Amerikkka!

It’s Black History Month, let’s talk about the real!
